San Diego Manifesto

Welcome to San Diego,
the current weather is 75 and sunny.
Home to students, families, athleisure wear, tourists, surfers, yo-pros, yogis, artists –
all are welcome.

Deep breaths of fresh air come easy
in our humble city of effortless beauty,
where kindness and curiosity meet for a cappuccino.

Discovery is limitless,
if you dare to travel by mind, foot, breath, board, boat, bike or bird.
There’s a neighborhood to match every mood,
even Dr. Seuss felt stoked by the “crinkled coves” of La Jolla.

We thrive in a continuous cultural coup,
a welcomed uprising of fresh art, food and ideas.
An indoor wonderland of education and an outdoor playground of ocean, deserts and mountains;
rest only for a well-bread sandwich or French fries stuffed into a burrito.

A revered military history drapes the city in honor.
A thin blue bridge connects classic and modern times.
San Diego sounds like boats rocking on the harbor, palm trees swaying in the breeze, seagulls chirping, and airplanes overhead.
It tastes like salty chips and chunky guac.

There are waves and answers to be found at the beach,
creatures to be spied at the tide pools,
and the reassuring OM of the Amtrak horn, signaling home.

There’s nothing like our down-to-earthy craft beer scene with an infamous green flash –
the beer not as elusive as the namesake –
and sunsets that never quit.

Another fine San Diego day gone by, and it never gets old.
